Lauren Carr

Lauren Carr is an accomplished professional flute repair technician with a deep commitment to excellence in both music and instrument craftsmanship. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Western Kentucky University (2010) and completed her formal training at Minnesota State College in Red Wing, MN, graduating in 2011 from their esteemed instrument repair program.

Lauren began her professional career in 2011 with Flute Authority and West Music. She is Straubinger Certified and currently serves as the Repair Manager and Sales Development Specialist for Flute Authority. With extensive experience servicing all makes of professional flutes and piccolos, she collaborates closely with leading flute manufacturers and contributes regularly at flute exhibitions and academic institutions across the United States, providing both consultation and repair workshops.

Renowned for her meticulous approach and unwavering dedication to quality, Lauren prioritizes enhancing instrument playability and ensuring musician satisfaction. She is actively involved in mentoring fellow technicians, fostering skill development and professional growth within the field.

In 2019, she expanded her expertise through advanced training at the Miyazawa and Sankyo flute factories in Japan. A committed member of the National Association of Professional Band Instrument Repair Technicians (NAPBIRT), Lauren continually pursues professional development through conferences, specialized training and presenting clinics.

In 2025, she furthered her leadership and customer service capabilities by attending the Disney Institute’s Leadership Excellence and Quality Service programs. Lauren was also selected for the 2025 WON Leadership Summit Class and honored with the Bernice Ash Award, recognizing her exemplary contributions to the profession. Additionally, she participated in the 2023 NAMM Young Professional Mentorship Program.
